Why are your candles better than other brands? Via Candles are made from the finest ingredients possible. All Via Candles are made from 100% soy wax - the cleanest and safest wax for use in candles. All of our candles use hemp core wicks with natural unbleached cotton covers. If the wick is white, it has been bleached and contains toxins. We use natural essential oils in our fragrances avoiding the toxins from synthetic fragrances. Think about fragrances such as "apple pie" and how they may be manufactured. These fragrances release toxins when burned. Via Candles are better quality.
Why do your candles burn so much longer than other brands? We have perfected the art of crafting a soy candle. Because soy wax burns cooler than paraffin, it lasts longer. Ounce for ounce we have found that soy wax burns 50% longer than paraffin wax. This creates an outstanding value for you. Additionally we carefully match the proper wick size for each candle. Using the correct wick optimizes the performance of the candle. Our candles are hand crafted for premium quality and are not mass produced.
Why are all of your candles white in color? Great question. The answer is that there are NO natural candle colors in the market. So any candle that is colored in any way, has an additional synthetic toxin added into the wax. Via Candles are not colored to keep them as toxin free as possible.
Is Soy wax really better than Paraffin Wax candles? Absolutely. Did you realize that paraffin wax is the by-product of refining crude oil? That is right. Paraffin wax comes from the same material that produces gasoline and heating oil. Only it is much worse. The saying "bottom of the barrel" actually originated from oil refining and refers to paraffin wax. The sludge that is left after the oil companies squeeze out all of the money making products from crude oil eventually becomes paraffin wax. This includes the toxins which are added to the crude oil to extract the refined products. Compare that to soy wax. Soy wax is made from soy beans. A renewable and toxin free resource. Paraffin is pumped from the ground and pollutes our environment. Soy beans are grown by hard working farmers and are consumed in many ways by consumers.
Is it safe to make a purchase on your website? Yes. We work extremely hard to protect our website from intrusion and even harder to protect your data. On our homepage you will see our SSL Seal. Click on the seal to verify that we are who we say we are. We have been in business for many years. We realize the importance of creating a secure and safe shopping environment. When you put your order toward completion you will notice a small icon on the bottom of your web browser in the shape of a lock. This indicates that the communication between your computer and our web server is encrypted and safe for transmission. What is your shipping policy? During the warmer summer months we will ship your order on Monday - Wednesday depending on where you are located. Our goal is to make sure your candle reaches you without being held in a warehouse over the weekend where the candle may be exposed to severe conditions. During cooler months we ship orders everyday. We charge a flat rate for shipping to the continental U.S. of $3.95. This does not cover our cost to ship your package but merely helps to off-set the cost. Do you ship outside the U.S.? Yes. We ship to Canada ($9.95), U.K. (weight based pricing), France (weight based pricing), Germany (weight based pricing), Italy (weight based pricing), Norway (weight based pricing), and Switzerland (weight based pricing).
